Just heard that I'm invited to the House of Commons in November to receive another Green Apple Award, for which I was nominated by the organisers of the Lancashire Green Awards.
The Green Apple Environment Awards are well established as one of the major
environmental campaigns to recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice around the world and are one of only a few schemes that meet the exacting criteria of the Brussels-led European Business Awards for the Environment. They do a good job in raising awareness of Environmental issues so, what can I say except thank you.
Today sees the launch of the 2012 Eco-Art China exhibition, this year moving on to Hong Kong after what promises to be a fab display in Shanghai. I'm honoured to be a part of it again with a selection of my work alongside some inspirational artists including Ha Schult from Germany and Leo Sewell from the USA. Some awesome pieces from the accompanying contest this year! Loving the Chakra sculpture by Sonalika Jain. Here's a taster.
The exhibition includes photography, painting, video, music, sculpture and fashion all made from discarded and eco-friendly materials. Kicking off at Yue Da 889 Plaza, Shanghai for two weeks from August 15 to August 29 - next stop Hong Kong.
Now there's no need to buy a new stamp each time you want a new image, because there's a new Ann Ellis stamp range at YNS. These sets have been designed with fun, creativity and versatility in mind; the interchangeable components give you maximum potential for putting your own 'stamp' on your creations (see what I did there).
Glad to be taking part in this fine annual event on the Wirral in the company of some marvelously talented artists - well worth a visit and lots of lovely, unique and inventive items for sale, too. I hear that Birkenhead Park was the first municipal park in the UK, designed by Paxton and the model for Central Park in New York - sounds like a fine day out! For more info, there is a review of the exhibition here in Nerve Magazine.
Birkenhead Park Vistors Centre, July 2 - 20
Looking forward to reading the May/June 2012 issue of Somerset Studio! Lots of luscious looking articles by artists whose work I love - and there's a bit about my own work too, as mine is this issue's exemplar.
Showcasing some pieces old and new at MerseyBIO alongside stunning photography by Liverpool based Matthew Thomas. Opens Feb 22nd for six weeks and bargainous if you are one of the lucky peeps allowed in!
Update: exhibition extended until May 2nd
A selection of jewellery from my Winter Collection is currently on diplay at Manchester Art Gallery as part of the MJN exhibition. "Each jeweller is making a collection of jewellery around their chosen theme. Some of the pieces will be one-offs and limited editions, but that in no way means these beautifully crafted pieces of jewellery are out of most peoples budgets. All the jewellery for sale is in the perfect price bracket for presents or little treats to yourself if you just can’t resist the temptation, and you will find it difficult to resist these sparkling delights" (Tara Kirkpatrick for MJN).
Manchester City Art Gallery until January 29th 2012
